Eileen has dabbled in writing since childhood. In college she explored poetry and during her 24-year early childhood teaching career she used writing as one means of communication with families. During these years she also enjoyed creating little songs, finger plays, and stories for the children in her class.
After retirement, writing as a means of communication turned into a weekly parenting column that included songs and finger plays used in her teaching. A poem she created to express her wonderings about the toad she had seen during a vacation evolved into a beautiful children’s picture book “TOADS” & “LITTLE SPOUT” illustrated by professional water colorist and dear friend Janelle Thompson.
